The figures required to sign Gleison Bremer from Juventus ‘do not scare’ Manchester United this summer as they target the centre-back.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb and Calciomercato.it, who both cover the player today amid consistent reports linking Manchester United with a move.
United have long been credited with an interest in the Brazilian centre-back and reports have continued to insist they’re looking at a deal this summer, with Gazzetta dello Sport insisting on that today.
They’re ready to pay but won’t be able to get him via a release clause, as the one in his current deal doesn’t activate until 2025 and will be valued at €60-70m.
Juventus, for their part, don’t have any intention of selling Bremer but would be swayed from that if the offer was so good that it simply couldn’t be turned down.
Calciomercato, meanwhile, say Manchester United’s emerging interest in the defender has led to the reveal of the release clause in his deal.
They say they’ve managed to verify the existence of the clause but insist that it cannot be activated this summer, only in 2025. Indeed, they back up what TMW report, that it doesn’t activate until 2025 and is worth €65-70m.
Manchester United are showing concrete interest but Juventus have the power to refuse, even if United offer a sum matching the value of that clause.
That doesn’t mean the Brazilian won’t be sold but the power is very much in Juventus’ hands at this point, even if United do come calling and offer big sums.
