Tottenham Hotspur have been made aware of the potential terms of a deal for Rafael Leao but are yet to act on that information.
Calciomercato report on the 27-year-old winger today and Galatasaray’s increased efforts to secure his signature.
Tottenham yet to move
The website explains that ‘things are finally moving’ in regard to Rafael Leao this summer. Galatasaray are courting him and the player is aware of their interest. He has asked for time to consider the offer, which he isn’t 100% convinced on at this moment in time.
But there is more openness on his side to the deal than there was ten days ago. This is likely because there has been no movement in the Premier League.
The Portuguese winger’s camp have long been exploring a move to the Premier League. Sport Witness have covered this repeatedly, including Jorge Mendes trying to make it happen by putting Mateus Fernandes at Tottenham this summer.
However, no concrete proposals have arrived from England so far. Aston Villa and Tottenham have ‘noted the potential deal’s terms’ but haven’t pursued it further. They are both focusing on other targets instead.
Loan deal possible
One thing is clear; there is no cope for reviving his career with the Rossoneri. The two parties want to split this summer and are actively trying to make it happen.
For now, Milan are playing a waiting game. The Serie A side are refusing to budge from their current €60m asking price. They aren’t ruling out a sale to Galatasaray or anyone else. They would even be open to a loan deal with ‘easily met conditions’ that trigger an obligation to buy.
Whether that is enough to tempt Tottenham to make their move, remains to be seen. After a big summer of spending already, a loan deal could make sense. But up to now, they haven’t moved despite being made aware of the conditions.
