Repeat claims are now coming from France again, after Monday morning was packed full of Spanish reports, on Raphael Varane moving to Manchester United.

Monday’s edition of Marca had the defender plastered across their front page, and claimed agreement over the move to Manchester United was ‘imminent’.

Others in Spain followed suit, and it’s believed Varane is now waiting for the signal to say the deal is done.

Claims have also been coming from France, which would suggest the player’s camp are confident of a move happening.

Saber Desfarges, a French journalist, says Varane has ‘politely declined’ an offer from Real Madrid to extend his contract, it’s not clear if this is a new late offer or the one which had been standing.

He adds the clubs are very close to an agreement.

RMC are also in on the act, and they believe ‘the transfer should be completed soon’.

A fee is put at €45m-50m, and it’s explained that’s whilst there’s not total agreement between the parties, everyone involved thinks it’s a ‘matter of time’ before the deal is done.
