On April 12th, Fichajes.net reported Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Barcelona’s Ansu Fati in the summer.
A day later, Mundo Deportivo explained the winger’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has received interest from Spurs after the La Liga side gave him the green signal to ‘seek offers’ for him.
It was also reported the 20-year-old welcomes Tottenham’s interest but isn’t keen on leaving the Camp Nou.
The Spain international made his 100th appearance for Barcelona in their goalless draw against Getafe at the weekend. Despite achieving this feat, Sport journalist Lluís Mascaró says his future at the Camp Nou still remains uncertain.
He claims there are a few Barca players who have uncertain futures and Fati’s name is included in the list. The attacker’s situation has been in question for some time while he’s been the only one who’s clear that he wants to continue at the club.
Despite the Tottenham target’s desire, Mascaró explains that Xavi Hernández’s side will put him ‘on the market’ in the next window. This has seen his agent offer Fati to a few Premier League sides.
With Mundo explaining that Mendes has received interest from Tottenham, the latest claim from Sport would come as a welcome boost for Spurs in their chase for Fati.
If the north London club can convince Fati over a move, they could then stand a chance to secure his services.
