Portuguese goalkeeper Eduardo is set to sign for Chelsea next week.
According to Record, the transfer is all but done, and the player is only waiting for the Champions League match against Red Bull Salzburg next Wednesday to make his final appearance for Dinamo Zagreb.
The 33-year-old is expected to sign a one-year contract with the Blues. He was close to joining Sporting, but Chelsea’s offer is said to be way more attractive.
Record claims that the signing is “blessed” by Gianluca Sipnelli, Conte’s goalkeeper coach who worked with Eduardo during his time at Genoa.
However, it’s still unclear if the Portuguese veteran is arriving to be Chelsea’s third goalkeeper or if he’s taking the place of Asmir Begović as the club’s number two.
During his career, Eduardo played for Braga, Beira-Mar, Vitória Setúbal, Genoa, Benfica, Istanbul BBSK and Dinamo Zagreb.
With 35 appearances for the Portuguese national team, the goalkeeper was part of the squad who won the Euros this year.
