Earlier this year, we covered claims from the Catalan media that Tottenham Hotspur would be willing to offer up to €70m for Barcelona’s Raphinha in the summer window.
On March 20th, Sport reported Spurs have been interested in the winger ‘throughout his career’, and that the La Liga side could be open to cashing in from his sale.
Fast forward to May and Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo discusses Tottenham’s interest in the 27-year-old.
Recent claims have linked Liverpool star Darwin Núñez with a move to the Camp Nou. This is relayed by the newspaper, who then give their own take on this and the north London club chasing Raphinha.
It’s claimed the 24-year-old striker is unlikely to arrive at the Camp Nou, but ‘more realistic’ would be Tottenham’s interest in the former Leeds United star and the possibility of him ending up back in the Premier League.
Raphinha has been on Spurs’ agenda for a while. Barca have to make a big sale in the next window to improve their finances and this favours Ange Postecoglu’s side, who can take advantage of the situation at the Spanish club to sign the attacker.
Mundo state the Catalan club want to collect at least €55m for the Brazil international.
The player isn’t keen on leaving Barcelona, more so after impressing in recent months. Both his club and Tottenham have to convince Raphinha, if there has to be a transfer in the summer.
