Earlier on Wednesday, the Italian media shared an interesting report on Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
It was claimed by SportItalia that Spurs have ‘swooped in strongly’ for the player in the last few hours, willing to spend ‘important money’ on his signing.
Now it’s time for that story to be backed up, as Gianluca Di Marzio comes up with more information on the chase.
Di Marzio says ‘the negotiation can be unlocked quickly’, but the London side may actually have other priorities first.
It’s said Tottenham’s main target continues to be Brentford goalkeeper David Raya. Only in case they don’t get the Spaniard, shall they move for Vicario.
Once again, there’s no mention of how much Empoli could demand for their player. He’s been linked to other Premier League clubs lately, so despite being currently valued by Transfermarkt at €15m, we could definitely see an auction which brings his price up by a few million.
