Czech striker Patrik Schick, currently playing for Sampdoria, was likened to Zlatan Ibrahimović in Italy and his homeland, and according to an article published by the biggest Czech sports newspaper Denik Sport (Daily Sport), the 21-year-old rising star could follow the Swede to the Premier League.

Schick has been linked with Tottenham since April, and claims have appeared since throughout the summer window. Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with interest in a series of forwards, and Schick is one of the ones who makes the most sense.

Talented Schick, well known in Italy for his killer instinct, was very close to a Juventus move in June – everything looked like a deal was done, he was already photographed in the Juventus shirt, but in the end, he didn’t pass the medical and there were rumours about heart problems.

However, Sampdoria sent him for a medical in Milan this week and the club’s doctor Amedeo Baldari claimed ‘he is fully fit.’ Denik Sport say there are three clubs heavily interested in Schick at the moment: they cited Italian media in terms of Inter’s offer of around €30m. Also, Monaco could want to get him if they sell Kylian Mbappe.

The player’s agent Pavel Paska refused to comment interest from any club, saying: ‘We have to arrange with Sampdoria, as his release clause (€25m) is not valid anymore since July 15th. It’s certain that his price will be far higher now. There are three interested teams and at the moment we are on the start.’

Sport report that PSG, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham follow Schick very closely.

The left-footed young forward would be a good alternative to Harry Kane for Pochettino, bringing more technical skills in than England’s star.
