Tottenham Hotspur have a desire to retain Dejan Kulusevski in north London, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who back up claims from elsewhere on the matter.
Spurs took the winger on an 18-month loan deal from Juventus in January 2022. As a part of the deal, they had an obligation to make his stay permanent for €35m had they qualified for the Champions League.
That didn’t happen and it’s now just an option for Tottenham to buy him for €35m.
After the final tie of the season last weekend, the Sweden international admitted he’s not aware of what lies ahead for him. He’ll also hold talks with the Premier League side to get clarity over his future.
It seemed obvious the north London club would make the 23-year-old’s stay permanent, before Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici left Tottenham. Despite the coach and the chief’s exits, their ‘idea has not changed’ and it is to retain the attacker.
TMW add what could be changed is the figure of the operation because Spurs missed out on the Champions League. In other words, Tottenham would be open to buying Kulusevski if Juve were to reduce the price from €35m.
Spurs are likely to get a discount because the report states the ‘feeling is that the former Parma player will remain in London’.
