The negotiations between Tottenham and AC Milan for Emerson Royal continue to rumble slowly and slowly on but are now in the final stages.
That’s according to Milan News, relaying information from Sky Sports Italy, who provide the details on what is holding up matters today.
Emerson has been linked with a move to Milan for weeks, with them determined to add a wing-back to Paulo Fonseca’s squad and the Brazilian identified as the preferred candidate after some back and forth.
A potential deal has been progressing very slowly, despite the player having made it clear he wants to leave and Tottenham being happy to let him go.
The major sticking point has been that Milan don’t want to pay what Tottenham are asking for, with the two parties taking their time to get closer to each other and find an agreement.
Sky now provide an update and saying that the ‘closing of the deal’ is very close and it is now dependent on working out the details related to personal and team bonuses.
“Base of the operation of €14m,” they are quoted as saying when discussing the potential transfer today.
“They only need to be fixed in bonuses, which must be between €2-3m to reach a total figure o €16m. Bonuses are linked to personal and team objectives.
“Once these aspects have been fixed, there will be the final green light: here’s what’s missing. The choice has been made.”.
