Tottenham Hotspur continued to be named as a suitor for Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi.
On Thursday, we covered a claim from Italy that Marseille have pulled out of the race to sign the 29-year-old in the winter market and it has come as a boost for Spurs.
This is pointed out in TuttoMercatoWeb’s latest report that details the attacking midfielder’s future at the Serie A side.
The Ukraine international and Jeremie Boga are the two players who seem ‘ready to leave’ Atalanta. The former has six months left on his deal and has had an inconsistent season so far. Therefore, the player’s farewell in January is ‘taken for granted’.
Marseille have pulled out of the race, while Tottenham after ‘won’t let go’ of wanting to sign Malinovskyi.
Atalanta are open to selling the player as they want to monetise in January. This, coupled with the north London club interest and his contractual situation means it is difficult to see Malinovskyi go out on loan in the next window.
Atalanta need to offload a few players first before making new signings to meet Gian Piero Gasperini’s wishes.
Malinovskyi’s sale can benefit them and Tottenham unwilling to give up on him will come as a good news for the Italian club.
