Barcelona’s Clément Lenglet joined Tottenham Hotspur on a loan deal last summer.

The centre-back has a goal and two assists from 21 matches in all competitions this season.

Tottenham don’t have an option to buy the 27-year-old but ‘there is optimism’ at the La Liga side that they will be able to offload him in the next window.

That’s according to Sport, who state the Frenchman is one of the Barca players currently out on loan who will not return to the Camp Nou next season.

The defender’s entourage are aware that the Blaugrana are looking to sell him in the summer. It’s claimed the ex-Sevilla man has several reasons to be ‘acquired’ by Antonio Conte’s side.

Tottenham, who don’t have a purchase option, are ‘willing to make an offer’ to convince Xavi Hernández’s side. As long as Barca don’t end up making a loss, they would not pose any problems to sanction Lenglet’s sale.

Sport don’t specify the fee Barca need to avoid making a loss from Lenglet’s sale. His future seems to be away from the Camp Nou and could likely be at Spurs.
