Tottenham ‘will come forward again’ for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat in the summer after showing interest in him in the past.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who say that the player’s revived performances will see Tottenham and Barcelona move for him again.

Amrabat was one of the stars of the show at the World Cup, playing a key role in Morocco’s run to the semi-finals of the competition in Qatar.

That led to speculation about a move in the January transfer window, with clubs all around Europe thought to be keen on him.

Tottenham were one of them, with reports going all the way back to 2019 claiming that they were interested in him.

Those links have never gone away, particularly with Antonio Conte in charge, with him more than aware of the player and his abilities after his time working in Italy.

A move never happened in January despite suggestions it might and neither did a transfer to Barcelona, despite them being keen late in the window.

That led to disappointment for Amrabat, who has been up and down since that point but returned to his old levels in recent weeks.

He is ‘waiting’ for the summer market to kick into action, when he and his agents believe that Barcelona and the Premier League will come calling for him.

In the latter Tottenham are ‘above all’ who are expected to ‘come forward again’ to try and finally secure his signature after years of transfer rumours.
