Tottenham and West Ham United are unlikely to need to get anywhere near the €30m being quoted for Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, because the Spanish side are desperate for money.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who report that while Sevilla are formally asking for €30m, the reality is that they will accept a fee far below that valuation.
Several reports over the last few days having indicated that Tottenham and West Ham are set to battle it out for En-Nesyri’s signature this summer.
That continued today as a new report from Spain made it clear that Sevilla cannot afford to wait for Tottenham and West Ham to make a move as they desperately need to secure a sale before the end of June to help balance their books.
Selling En-Nesyri is ‘fundamental’ for them to balance the accounts and then be able to move forward with their plans to reshape the current squad.
They want a deal done as soon as possible and that means they will be forced to accept a much lower figure than they’d like from suitors such as Tottenham and West Ham.
They’ve set an initial asking price of €30m but will take a lower initial figure that has bonuses on top to get towards that number. The reality of them getting anything near that even with those, though, appears to be low.
That’s something we’re sure Tottenham, West Ham and any other interested clubs are more than aware of at this point and perhaps their failure to make a move yet is all part of the game to get Sevilla sweating even more.
