Tottenham Hotspur are today named in the race for Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati.
The claims come from the Spanish media, where Fichajes writes about the clubs who are competing to land the hugely talented 20-year-old in the summer.
Barcelona are said to be in need of making some sales in the next window, and Tottenham are one of those who line up for the youngster.
Fichajes writes that Spurs are ‘looking for options’ in the market, especially because Richarlison and Harry Kane could be ‘close’ to leaving the club in short term, and ‘want to sign’ the winger.
It’s said Tottenham want a ‘base of young footballers’, and that’s where Ansu Fati comes in, as Daniel Levy and those around him try to build a ‘competitive project for the future’.
The report doesn’t exactly say how much Barcelona are looking to make with this sale, as it’s just claimed the club need money to reinvest in their squad.
Fati is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €35m, and according to Fichajes, he also draws the interest from Manchester United and AC Milan.
Featuring for Barcelona this season, the youngster has seven goals and three assists in 41 appearances, but is said to have complained about a lack of starts in a team where he feels he can have a bigger impact if trusted by Xavi.
