Having managed to bolster their midfield with the arrival of Rodrigo Bentancur in January, Tottenham aren’t done with the purchases going forward.
Antonio Conte has clearly earmarked the centre of the pitch as an area that needs work, and while Tanguy Ndombélé might be coming back, he isn’t expected to stay at Spurs for very long.
Among the names being looked at, according to Fichajes in Spain, is Carlos Soler.
The Valencia midfielder is having a great season with the La Liga side at the moment, scoring 10 goals and picking up four assists in 26 appearances in all competitions, and that has caught the eye of Tottenham.
The website state that three teams are ‘looking for his signing’, among which can be found Spurs.
They explain that Soler ‘fits the profile’ Antonio Conte wants at Tottenham, having both quality and the ability to project himself forward.
What could help Daniel Levy and co. if they do decide to go after the Spaniard is the fact Bryan Gil is currently on loan at Valencia, and he’s someone the La Liga side would like to keep.
The idea here is that the two sides could ‘sit down to negotiate an exchange of players’, although they do add that should this scenario happen, Tottenham ‘should pay some economic differences given that Soler has a much higher market price’ than the winger.
Something to think about…
