At this moment in time, it’s very difficult to tell you where Takehiro Tomiyasu will end up come the end of the summer.
The Japanese defender is a wanted man, no one is denying that, but interested clubs, such as Tottenham, have yet to satisfy Bologna’s demands with the right offer.
A report from Calciomercato on Friday morning suggested Fabio Paratici was still interested and that Nuno Espirito Santo had given the OK for the transfer to happen.
Well, Corriere dello Sport see it very differently, with it explained there’s a chance Spurs could end up dropping the avenue altogether.
They point out three Premier League clubs ‘continue to follow’ Tomiyasu, and those are West Ham, Leicester City and Tottenham.
However, it’s made clear Paratici ‘turned a deaf ear to Bologna’s request’ for the player, ‘which was €20m + bonuses’.
It seems unlikely that Spurs’ stance will change in the coming weeks, but it appears it’s not entirely dead in the water just yet…
It’s simply gasping for air, struggling to survive as Paratici looks on, deciding whether or not to take the plunge and save it.
