RB Salzburg are starting to get something of a reputation for finding some talent around the world to then sell for a profit down the line.

They’ve done so in the past with Sadio Mané, Erling Haaland and most recently Patson Daka, currently at Leicester City.

With those now gone, it was time to find the next one, and that could be Roko Simić, son of Dario, who is already attracting interest from the likes of Tottenham and West Ham.

The news comes from Jeunes Footeux in France, who explain that the 18-year-old, currently on loan at FC Liefering in the 2.Liga in Austria, has caught the eye of a number of big European clubs, including Spurs.

It’s no secret that Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham is likely to be short-lived, such is the attention being given to him by Manchester City,, and while Simić would not be stepping in directly, he’s certainly a player they could purchase and nurture into a potential successor.

With eight goals in 11 games including two in two in the UEFA Youth League, the striker has already shown a great eye for goal, which he has taken with him at international level, recently bagging a hat-trick against Azerbaijan’s U21s for Croatia.

Despite signing a contract until 2025, Simić could ‘quickly be the subject of offers’, with ‘certain scouts comparing him to a certain Erling Braut Haaland’.

We’ll have to see about that, but it’s clear there is promise there and the young Croatian is one to keep an eye on.
