Last week, we covered a report from Corriere dello Sport about interest from Newcastle United in Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode. Tottenham were mentioned as an interested party and there is now another update about the situation of the defender.
The report had mentioned La Viola want around €30m for Kayode and a report from Corriere dello Sport today has stated a much lower figure.
It’s reported Aston Villa had offered €15 million in June but that was rejected by La Viola sporting director Daniele Prade.
Tottenham are interested and see Kayode as a replacement for Emerson Royal but they would have to pay €20m or more to have a chance of signing the player.
Newcastle United are also interested and more clubs from England could become potential suitors, as Fiorentina currently tour England during pre-season.
The report mentions Fiorentina’s need to sell a player and how Kayode could be sacrificed. That is quite encouraging for Tottenham and Newcastle.
