Even though Tottenham Hotspur continue to be strongly linked to Ruslan Malinovskyi, the Italian media makes it clear that Atalanta will fight for a decent sale.
It’s Calcio Mercato who writes about the midfielder today, claiming there’s ‘no shortage of suitors’ for his signing.
Saying Malinovskyi will ‘not leave at any price’, they write Tottenham are ‘warned’ about the amount needed to take him from Atalanta.
It’s now said the ‘classic’ €15m price tag won’t be enough, as at least €18m will be needed to ‘enter serious negotiations’.
The good news for Tottenham is that Marseille, one of the competitors, are now said to be out of the race. Calcio Mercato claims the French side have backed off since they have ‘no liquidity’ to make the signing, as they’d rather try for a loan or a swap.
Since Atalanta are in need of making cash, that favours any other club that want to pay a proper amount for Malinovskyi, and that’s what seems to make Spurs the favourites.
Last week, we’d already covered claims from Italy stating Tottenham are ‘in pole position’ for this signing, as they ‘do not lack’ money for it.
