Tottenham have been told that Federico Chiesa is an ‘absolute opportunity’ this summer, with €20m basically a bargain.

Journalist Enzo Bucchioni has commented on the player today as he appears destined to leave Juventus this summer.

Chiesa is out of contract at Juventus next summer and so far, talks over a new deal have not progressed to the point where he will be signing an extension and staying.

That means Juventus will be keen to move him on to ensure that they get a fee for him this summer and don’t lose him on a free next year.

Tottenham have been linked for weeks, with reports in Italy steadily progressing towards them actually making an offer and pushing to get a deal over the line.

A report yesterday explained that they were now on the verge of doing that, with that followed up by an explanation that they had been ‘concrete’ since the 18th of this month.

Bucchioni has now urged Tottenham, and indeed any other potential suitors, to start making a move sooner rather than later as the forward would be an absolute bargain buy, even if you do have to pay a fee for him.

“But how much can he cost now? €20m? And if I take him for free in a year? I’ll find an agreement with the player today and take him in a year,” he is quoted as saying while discussing Napoli’s potential interest in him.

“This could be not just an opportunity, but a great opportunity. But staying in the present, even at €20m this summer it’s an absolute opportunity: he needs to be relaunched but give Chiesa to Conte and you’ll see what kind of player he would come back!

“With his explosiveness and his quality. The market is also this: connections, opportunities, the right moment. Napoli without cups can make all the discussions with extreme serenity!”
