It’s no secret that Tottenham came very close to striking a deal with Inter regarding the transfer of Milan Skriniar back in the summer.

Tanguy Ndombélé was said to be involved as a makeweight, and while it never got done, the thought of signing the Slovakian has never left.

The same can be said about Liverpool, who, despite bringing in Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak in January, still like the idea of making a move for Skriniar down the line.

That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain that Tottenham ‘for months now, have been the team that has come closest to the player’.

Clubs from the Premier League ‘continue to knock on the door in search of news’ regarding a transfer for the 25-year-old, including Liverpool.

The Reds ‘will have to make careful and in-depth analyses of a defence as strong as it is fragile’, and they are said to ‘also be at the window’, and all that ‘despite the arrival of Kabak’.

It appears the Slovakia international could become the new Kalidou Koulibaly, having to endure rumour after rumour about his future in years to come, such is his reputation on the transfer market, regardless of whether his current club want to sell or not.
