Following Sporting’s training session on Monday, Portuguese outlet Record soon came up with a story saying Pedro Porro took part in the works led by manager Ruben Amorim.
It was claimed that with the Lions and Tottenham unable to find an agreement with the transfer, the Lisbon side were keeping the player in the squad for now.
It turns out that soon after that story, other Portuguese outlets started saying the opposite, claiming Porro had actually missed training.
And now Record is back with a new story, rectifying themselves, and claiming that the player indeed ‘did not train’. On their headline, it’s said the fullback is ‘forcing his way out’ to Spurs.
It’s claimed that Porro ‘had the promise the talks would already be closed’, and that’s the main reason why he didn’t train. His absence was even confirmed by an official source from Sporting, who claimed the club ‘authorised’ him to be out of the session.
Record adds that Tottenham ‘refuse’ to pay the full amount for the transfer, which is of €48m, given that the Lions would like to make a few millions more over his €45m release clause.
Meanwhile, Radio Renascença showed up after that with very interesting claims, saying Porro was authorised to skip training so he could ‘finalise the details’ of this transfer to Spurs and the move ‘should actually happen’.
That last part, however, it still to be corroborated by other outlets, so maybe wait a little bit longer before jumping for joy, Tottenham fans.
