At the weekend, Bayern Munich consultant Uli Hoeneß made statements to the press about Harry Kane and Daniel Levy.
In bullish mood, he insisted the Tottenham player wants a transfer to Bayern. On Levy, he said the Spurs boss is a tough negotiator but someone he respects.
Such a move of going public is unusual, and there’s been worry in Germany that the tactic may end up backfiring, ultimately making Kane even more difficult to sign.
Bild have published a couple of articles which touch on that already, and now they claim to have information regarding Tottenham’s response to the developments.
The German newspaper explain Tottenham and Levy have been left ‘very surprised’ after Hoeneß spoke out.
Despite that, they don’t plan to change their own transfer tactics, and are therefore unlikely to go public and answer the Bayern consultant back.
The transfer isn’t dead, but the German slant appears to be that the public comments certainly haven’t helped the move.
Prior to that, Bayern had decided that treating Tottenham with as much respect as possible was the way forward, and Hoeneß hasn’t helped that.
