We may be getting to the end of the year, but the Portuguese press now makes it clear that the Bruno Fernandes rumours will continue in 2020.

Newspaper A Bola has a story today saying the midfielder could leave Sporting in the January transfer window. But for that to happen, the Lions have been demanding €65m.

There’s only one club who get a special mention in this article, and that’s Tottenham Hotspur. Ironically, they’re not seen as potential bidders for next month.

A Bola recalls that Spurs tried to sign Fernandes last summer, offering €45m plus another €25m in bonuses, and even considered to make a bid of €80m after having the first one rejected.

Then they say Tottenham continue to be ‘attentive’ to the player, this time under José Mourinho’s orders. However, the London side don’t plan to make any moves for the midfielder in the January transfer market.

Bruno Fernandes continues to have an impressive record at Sporting, now with 13 goals and 13 assists in 23 appearances for the club this season.
