Last week, Fotomaç reported Kerem Aktürkoğlu has attracted attention from Tottenham Hotspur and that their manager Ange Postecoglou is closely following the Galatasaray star.
Operating mainly as a left winger and at times as an attacking midfielder, he has scored five goals and registered seven assists from 16 games this season.
According to Akşam, Tottenham have ‘stepped in’ and taken action to try to sign the 24-year-old in January.
It’s claimed the Premier League side have made contact with the Istanbul club to ask information about the Turkey international and have also requested a meeting with the player. There’s no mention if Spurs’ request has been granted.
Akşam explain that there will be important negotiations for the versatile attacker in the winter market. Apart from Postecoglou’s side, the report adds that Arsenal are also keen on signing the Turkish champions’ star.
Aktürkoğlu has a contract until 2026 and the website says Galatasaray are trying to offer him an improved deal, likely to fend off Spurs and other interested parties.
Apart from Aktürkoğlu, it’s stated that Tottenham are showing interest in his teammate, Victor Nelsson.
