It was a night to forget for Tottenham Hotspur skipper Hugo Lloris at the Etihad following his responsibility for both of Manchester City’s goals.
The Tottenham Hotpsur star, however, has been speaking to SFR Sport (via RMC Sport) on the future West Ham United’s Dimitri Payet.
Lloris says he has been left surprised by Payet’s situation at West Ham, and that more updates are expected in a ‘little while’.
The Tottenham No.1 said: “We care first about our daily life, but I get along very well with Dimitri. This is a rather surprising situation, and we may know a little more in a little while.”
Asked about his understanding of the entire situation, Lloris adds he hasn’t spoken to Payet on his possible transfer to Marseille.
He added: “He hasn’t yet spoken on this subject and all that is happening belongs only to the club of West Ham and Dimitri. So it’s hard to have a judgment on that.”
It’s been reported Marseille have made an offer of €30m for Payet, but West Ham are demanding more for the Frenchman. Payet is keen on a return to France and at Marseille, but it appears West Ham are not ready to let the player leave so easily.
Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris is just as respected with the French national squad as he is at Spurs, and it’d be no surprise if Payet has looked for his advice.
