Giovani Lo Celso arrived at Tottenham Hotspur from Real Betis on the deadline day and he could be Christian Eriksen’s replacement at the north London club.
The Denmark international has a year left on his Spurs contract and had been linked with Manchester United before the window closed.
AS on Friday claim the 27-year-old called Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to inform about his desire to play in Spain, which saw the Red Devils end their interest.
Eriksen had a verbal agreement with Real Madrid in May. Situation has changed since then and he now finds himself behind Ajax’s Donny van de Beek in Los Blancos’ transfer list.
AS explain Atletico Madrid could present themselves as ‘more real possibility’ for Eriksen.
Diego Simeone’s side are interested in James Rodriguez, but Real have no plans to sell him to Los Rojiblancos. Thus, there is a possibility of Eriksen ending up at Atletico.
For now, the two Madrid clubs are options for Eriksen, but should the Spanish dream doesn’t materialise, he will have to look at the Italian clubs.
