Tottenham are yet to make an official offer for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar but already have an agreement in place with the centre back.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say that Monday could see something ‘more concrete’ arrive from Spurs.
They explain that Tottenham’s interest in Skriniar is ‘well established’ at this point, but so far there has been no official offer, rather ‘exchanges of information’ about a potential transfer.
Inter would like to make €50-60m from a potential transfer, but Tottenham thought they wouldn’t have to go further than €35m, so there is work to be done.
The positive is that getting a deal over the line is ‘in the interest of all parties involved’, particularly for Inter, who are eyeing up a sale to raise funds and further support Antonio Conte.
Money, as always, remains the issue though. Rumours from England have suggested that Daniel Levy may be willing to go as high as €40m, but it remains to be seen if that figure, perhaps with the inclusion of ‘a few bonuses’, is enough to convince the Serie A club.
Gazzetta Dello Sport back this up somewhat, saying that the deal will depend on how close Spurs will be able to get Inter’s €50m asking price.
Thus, there is work to be done, but the outlook from both newspapers is very much a positive one, and their stance is that if Tottenham pay up, they’ll get their man.
