After starting the first three league games of this season, Kyle Walker-Peters lost his place to Serge Aurier at Tottenham Hotspur.
Even after Mauricio Pochettino was replaced by José Mourinho last month, the situation hasn’t improved for Walker-Peters, which is why Spurs could be in the market for a new right-back.
Wednesday’s edition of Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad claims the north London club have ‘already shown interest’ in Leicester City star Ricardo Pereira.
The Portugal international has started in all the league fixtures for Brendan Rodgers’ side and the Foxes ‘absolutely want to keep’ him beyond the winter market.
However, Tottenham are pushing for Pereira, which has forced Leicester to look at the market for his replacement.
It’s claimed Leicester have identified Royal Antwerp’s Aurélio Buta as a ‘top candidate’ to replace Pereira, if the latter leaves the club in January.
The English side are interested in the 22-year-old, but the report indicates a deal for Buta would only be considered if Pereira leaves Leicester during the mid-season window.
