Tottenham Hotspur and Sampdoria are expected to revaluate the loan of Harry Winks at the Serie A side.

Loaned to the Italian club last summer, the 26-year-old hasn’t even made his debut for them yet because of a serious ankle injury.

Now SampNews24 writes about the ‘dilemma’ that Sampdoria and Tottenham are working on. It’s said the clubs will meet next month to ‘re-discuss the terms of the loan’.

It’s claimed that with the current situation, the Serie A side are set to ask Spurs for a discount on the buying option, or even renew the loan for an extra year ‘for free’.

In case the clubs can’t find an agreement, SampNews24 say Sampdoria would be willing to cut short the loan spell and let Winks return to Tottenham in the January transfer window.

The midfielder is still working on his recovery, as he’s only expected to be back in action next year. In case the clubs do decide to cancel the loan and the potential purchase, Winks is tied to Tottenham in a contract until 2024.
