This week, we’ve seen Tottenham Hotspur fullback Emerson Royal admitting that he knows Atletico Madrid are interested in signing him.
Speaking to the Spanish media, the player revealed he has friends at the La Liga side and even watches their matches.
With the local press already talking about this chase, the rumour is only going to grow. Spanish outlet Fichajes have speculated on this scenario and a potential move.
The website claims Emerson is one of the players who will be leaving Tottenham this summer, since he’s not in Antonio Conte’s plans for next season.
Spurs, however, are looking to recover the investment they made to take the player from Barcelona. That means they’re demanding €25m for the transfer.
And even though Atletico Madrid are prepared to spend that amount, it’s said they’re going to work to ‘considerably to reduce’ the price, as they don’t want to pay too much for a defender.
Since arriving at Tottenham last summer, he’s made 33 appearances. His first goal for the club was scored last weekend, in the game against Newcastle United.
