Tottenham are making their official move to sign Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli, according to Gianluca Di Marzio on Thursday.
The news of Spurs’ interest in the Italian goalkeeper emerged on Wednesday when Sport Italia broke it, and everything has snowballed from there.
It was said Tottenham were ready to spend good money on the Hugo Lloris replacement, and the move has been made.
Di Marzio took to Twitter on Thursday to explain that Daniel Levy and co. ‘have sent their written bid’ to Empoli for the transfer of Vicario.
While it isn’t said if it has been accepted, the suggestion is that it has, as the journalist follows up by explaining that there is ‘paperwork and contracts to be signed’.
That next step would only happen if the Serie A side were happy with the money on the table, meaning Vicario appears well on his way to work with Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham next season.
We’ll be keeping an eye for any developments throughout the day to keep you updated.
