Last week saw the news emerge that Tottenham had started the process of trying to sign Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon, but were rebuked on their first attempt.
The amount of the bid was never revealed, but it was said to fall short of Lyon’s valuation of €80-100m for the France international.
However, that figure isn’t set in stone, according to Le10 Sport, as the Ligue 1 side want to get a deal done for the Frenchman before the end of the month.
The website explain that selling the midfielder by June 30th so it falls within this financial year, and should no offer meeting their demands arrive, they might have to drop their asking price a bit.
Tottenham, down their end, are expecting to come back with a renewed bid ‘quickly’ as Mauricio Pochettino would like to get a transfer over the line as quickly as possible.
We’re guessing this is to then allow the player to settle into his team and philosophy with a full preseason under his belt ahead of the next Premier League campaign.
With Daniel Levy and Jean-Michel Aulas going head to head again, this could be an interesting game of chicken.
