Over the past two months, there have been several claims in Italy discussing Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson.

Wednesday’s edition of Tuttosport continues to talk about Spurs interest in the forward. He has starred for the Serie A side this season, managing 15 goals and four assists from 32 games.

Tuttosport focuses on Juventus’ desire to sign the 26-year-old and adds that they will face competition from Tottenham in the summer.

The Icelandic international is managed by Gabriele Giuffrida and Valerio Giuffrida, and the Old Lady have tested the waters with his agents. Inter Milan also like him, but the report says he isn’t attracted to the idea of moving to the San Siro.

This leaves the Turin club and Ange Postecoglou’s side as contenders, and ‘the game is open’. It’s claimed the two clubs have ‘sat down at the table’ to discuss a potential deal for Gudmundsson.

The Serie A side could include a player as part of the deal, and Tuttosport state Genoa like Juve’s Enzo Barrenechea, who’s currently on loan at Frosinone.

Meanwhile, agent Oscar Damiani claims Gudmundsson won’t end up at Inter. Speaking to TMW Radio, relayed by FcInterNews, Damiani further adds the attacker won’t join another Italian club and could make a switch to England.

“The English market is the one with the most availability to purchase. I think Gudmundsson is worth €25-30m, in my opinion the Italians don’t reach that figure. In my opinion, if he leaves Genoa, it will be to leave Italy,” he said.

This indicates Tottenham are well placed to acquire the player’s signature in the summer.
