The Italian media today shares a small update on the talks between AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Emerson Royal.
Newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport highlights the Rossoneri’s search for a fullback, with the Brazilian being top of their list of possibilities.
It’s claimed Milan want to sign Royal from Tottenham, but wouldn’t like to go beyond €20m, while €18m is actually the ‘ideal’ price for them to pay.
The newspaper writes that Spurs aimed at €30m in the first talks, and have been accepting to bring that price down in the past few weeks, and the parties are expected to get close soon.
Emerson is said to be interested in moving to a club where he has ‘continuity’, as he hasn’t been able to get regular games at Tottenham.
Milan’s quest for a right-back is one of their priorities this summer, and their chief scout Geoffrey Moncada recently went to London, where he found himself in the centre of negotiations.
With the clubs edging closer to an agreement, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this transfer is confirmed soon.
