Bundesliga duo Hertha Berlin and RB Leipzig are interested in a move for Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon.
That’s according to BILD, who say that both clubs are eyeing up a loan deal for the youngster, who is out of favour under Jose Mourinho.
He managed just three starts in the Premier League last year and has been linked with a move away this summer as a result.
That’s yet to happen, but it seems he may be given a chance to take the Jadon Sancho route and move to Germany, albeit temporarily.
BILD claim that Hertha and Leipzig ‘chase’ Sessegnon as they are both looking for a winger before the end of the window.
That’s led them to the Tottenham youngster, who they consider as ‘extremely flexible’ given he’s played in both full-back positions and on either flank during his career.
They’re only interested in a loan deal at present, and would ‘gladly’ take one that includes an option to buy, but Tottenham are currently rejecting that proposal.
Leipzig, for their part, have the money they brought in from sending Ademola Lookman to Fulham – which is €3m – to play with, and the suggestion is that they can use that to get in front of the competition.
There’s no mention if there’s been any initial talks or anything of that nature, but the interest is certainly there, and Sessegnon could become the latest English youngster to try his luck in Germany.
