Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Antonín Kinský will ‘hardly feature’ again for the Premier League side this season.
That’s according to Czech Republic’s iSport, who look at his future at Tottenham beyond this season.
Igor Tudor started the stopper in Tottenham’s 5-2 Champions League defeat to Atlético Madrid on Tuesday, only to replace him after 17 minutes.
This clearly didn’t please the Czech Republic international and the media from his country.
On Wednesday, Sport Witness covered Czech claims urging the 22-year-old to leave Spurs after a disappointing Champions League debut.
Tottenham blocked January exit
Prior to his appearance against the La Liga side, Kinský played two matches for Tottenham this season and both were in the EFL Cup. Guglielmo Vicario has been No.1 for the past few years.
Kinský’s restricted role saw several clubs come forward to sign him in the winter market. West Ham United had him in their target list, whilst there were claims of interest from Lille and unnamed German clubs.
However, the north London club decided against sanctioning his exit. This has clearly not worked out for the player and therefore, a loan move is considered ‘much more likely’ in the summer.
Specific clause in Kinský’s contract
Antonín Kinský can take advantage of a clause in his contract to secure a move away from Tudor’s side. It’ll come into effect if he doesn’t make a certain number of appearances this season.
Sources have told iSport about this clause, without mentioning details of the terms. Should he fail to meet these conditions, Tottenham must release him on loan in the next window.
With the Czech unlikely to feature again, the clause is likely to be activated. People close to Kinský suggest it’s best for him to leave the English capital club on a temporary deal.
Stopper’s contract and value
Transfermarkt value Kinský at €13m and his contract expires in 2029. However, the Premier League side have confirmed he has signed a deal until 2031.
He arrived at the north London club from Slavia Prague in January 2025, when Vicario was sidelined with an injury.
Kinský has so far played 1,127 minutes from 13 matches, keeping four clean sheets and conceding 22 goals.
It’ll be interesting to see where he’ll play next season. The Czech needs to join a club on loan, one which can assure him regular playing time.
