Tottenham held a meeting with striker Randal Kolo Muani’s agent in London ‘very recently’ ahead of a potential move for him in the summer.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Tottenham are one of the sides keen on him following his performances this season.

The website explains that Muani’s stock is rising following a series of impressive performances for Eintracht Frankfurt that saw him called up to France’s squad at the World Cup as a replacement for the injured Christopher Nkunku.

That has clubs around Europe ‘already lining up’ to sign him next summer and Tottenham are one of the ones in the Premier League who are keen.

Foot Mercato report that they were ‘already keen’ to sign him in the summer but were beaten by Frankfurt, who ‘won the bid’ for his services.

Their interest has not gone away, though, and ‘a meeting took place recently’ in London between one of the player’s representatives and someone at Tottenham.

If Spurs are to make a bid for him, though, they will need to open the chequebook and ‘not just a little’ either.

A recent report in Germany made it clear that Frankfurt won’t listen to any offers below €60m for their new star man but his new status and the ‘shortage of strikers’ could push the price up further towards €80m.

That would be a major deal for any club to consider, especially given he arrived at the German club on a free transfer last summer.
