Alexander Sørloth is in a complicated situation.
Having failed to make it at Crystal Palace, he was sent out on a two year loan to Trabzonspor, with the Turkish club having a buying option.
A huge success in his first season with the Trabzon club, he’s inevitably receiving transfer interest from elsewhere, with RB Leipzig and Tottenham Hotspur the two clubs linked most recently.
Fotospor report Trabzonspor want €20m from a transfer, and Crystal Palace are looking for €10m, making a total of €30m. RB Leipzig have offered €20m plus a further €4m in bonuses, and Tottenham have now put around €25m on the table.
Crystal Palace and Trabzonspor both have to sanction the move, and it’s explained the English club don’t want to settle for just €6m (the amount of the Turkish club’s buying clause) if he’s going to leave for around €25m.
If Trabzonspor used their €6m clause now, Sørloth would then have an automatic buyout clause of less than €10m.
Therefore, Fotospor claim the two clubs are working together and have subsequently come up with the €30m figure.
