In December, L’Interista reported Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario wants to leave the club in the summer. It was around the time he’d fallen out with some of the club’s supporters and an Italian rescue mission was being suggested.
Inter Milan are interested, as they see the Italian as a replacement for Yann Sommer. There were suggestions the Spurs player is fed up with the constant turbulence at Tottenham. Therefore, he would be keen on returning to Serie A.
The Italian media never truly believe anyone from the country is happy once they’ve left. That encourages return rumours, subsequently any negative situation will be used as reasoning.
Tottenham’s replacement for Vicario can now come from Italy, with ASRomaLive covering interest in Mile Svilar.
The 26-year-old signed a new deal at AS Roma some months ago after an impressive 2024/25 season. Even in the ongoing campaign, he’s made a real mark and is now attracting attention from multiple European clubs.
The outlet reports Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United have all scouted the Serbian at various points.
Thomas Frank’s side are quite happy with what they’ve seen and are now pursuing the goalkeeper.
Tottenham may be asked €70m for transfer

Svilar is currently said to be valued at €70m and that is largely because his renewal took place in 2025. Interest in him is likely to grow and Roma will only consider offers that are ‘out of line’ to sell the ex-Benfica player.
Tottenham could continue to scout Svilar further and he is being considered as a replacement for Vicario.
That is no surprise, as the Serbia international is arguably the best goalkeeper in Serie A. He is much better than Vicario was when he joined Tottenham, showcasing real leadership between the sticks.
Mile Svilar may be best known in England for an awful performance against Manchester United when he was a youngster at Benfica. He’s certainly grown from that and is now a very interesting option for Premier League clubs.
