Tottenham’s interest in RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol has become ‘literally overwhelming’ as he shines at the World Cup.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who cover the growing interest in the centre-back today as Juventus are also keen on the Croatian.
Gvardiol has been earning himself growing interest during his time in Qatar, where he has been a key player for Croatia.
He played that role earlier this week, with a superb performance in the 0-0 draw against Belgium that helped seal his country’s progress to the knockout stages of the competition.
The defender was imperious in that game, putting in ‘another sumptuous performance’ according to Corriere that has only added to him being ‘one of the most sought-after’ players in Europe.
His suitors have taken notice of the face he has everything ‘character, technique and personality’ and the interest is growing ahead of January.
He has suitors in the Premier League and Tottenham are one of them, with it claimed that the ‘pressure’ from them and others has become ‘literally overwhelming’ at this point.
RB Leipzig know that it will not be easy to postpone the departure of their ‘diamond’, who also finds himself on Real Madrid and Juventus’ radar.
The latter have been ‘left to watch’ for now as Leipzig want €70-80m, a figure they cannot afford but it is felt the likes of Tottenham would be more than happy to pay.
