Last week, following Tottenham Hotspur’s failed attempt for the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting, the Portuguese media had made it clear that Spurs were unlikely to make a new attempt for his transfer, especially because the Lions would continue to demand €45m for his sale.
But as local newspapers are back to speaking about that rumour today, it’s said something could still happen in this transfer window.
Outlet A Bola is one of those with the reports, as they claim that despite the failed first attempt, Tottenham ‘prepare’ to be back in charge this week, with a ‘new approach’, offering more money this time.
The interesting thing here is that O Jogo says something very similar, with the newspaper claiming that Spurs ‘promise’ to insist for the signing with an ‘improved offer’.
It’s insisted that Sporting will only let Porro go for €45m, and none of the reports seem to know whether Tottenham will put that much on the table.
In their last attempt, they tried to include their share on Marcus Edwards as part of the deal, but that was turned down by the Lions, as they only want money.
