Two months ago, Bild reported Tottenham Hotspur were following RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo and that his €60m release clause is a bargain for the Premier League side.
On May 8th, SportBild stated the north London club have made contact over a deal for the 26-year-old. A day later, Sport said Spurs are ‘on the prowl’ to sign him in the summer window.
A ‘confidential’ report from Sport now talks about Tottenham’s interest when discussing Barcelona’s stance on Olmo.
Hansi Flick is set to replace Xavi Hernández at the Camp Nou and this is unlikely to impact the La Liga side’s interest in the winger. His agents also manage Barca youngster Mika Faye and they discussed the Spain international during a recent meeting with Deco.
The newspaper states the Catalan club’s sporting director believes the Tottenham target could fit well into Flick’s system. Olmo spent time at Barcelona’s academy and that should help him with quick adaptation.
It’s claimed Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Manchester United are Barca’s ‘rivals’ in the race to sign the Leipzig star.
Sport add Olmo is happy with his life at Leipzig and will only consider a transfer if there’s ‘something exciting’. In other words, the Spaniard ‘wants a project that seduces him’ in the next window and whether Tottenham’s project can be that remains to be seen.
