Tottenham Hotspur are ‘on pole’ to sign Ruslan Malinovskyi from Atalanta, according to what is presented as an exclusive report from Tutto Atalanta.

Antonio Conte’s side are said to ‘overtaken the competition’, with newly promoted Nottingham Forest, who have been very busy in the market this summer, specifically named.

Malinovskyi is presented as being very keen on a big move, but there could be an issue in the formula between Spurs and the Serie A club.

Atalanta want to ‘monetise’ his departure now, whereas Tottenham would prefer a loan with an option, or perhaps even an obligation, to buy next summer.

The attacking midfielder is said to have given his approval to a move to Tottenham, and Spurs’ proposal is on the table at Atalanta, ready for the club to consider the formula of a deal.

Whether Nottingham Forest will now make an attempt to pull the situation in their favour remains to be seen.

There’s no indication of what the value would be of any option.
