On Friday, Calciomercato stated Tottenham Hotspur are serious about Radu Drăgușin and are set to initiate contact soon over a potential deal for the Genoa star.
Later that day, the centre-back played the full 90 minutes in his side’s 1-1 draw against Inter Milan and scored the equaliser.
Another report from Calciomercato provides more information on Tottenham‘s ongoing pursuit of the 21-year-old.
His displays this season have seen him attract interest from Atalanta, AS Roma, Napoli and AC Milan. Spurs are ahead of the Serie A sides and are currently ‘in pole position’ to sign the defender.
Calciomercato say Genoa are requesting €30m and the price could rise if he continues to play like he did against Inter. Atalanta and Roma could only consider signing him if they can include a player as part of the deal.
It’s claimed the north London club won’t have any issues paying €30m for the Romania international. Ange Postecoglou has been without Micky van de Ven since November and Cristian Romero was recently added to the injury list.
After Romero’s setback, Calciomercato state Spurs are stepping up their efforts and seem to be ‘ready to sink the blow’ to secure the Genoa player’s services.
On Drăgușin, Genoa manager Alberto Gilardino said, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb: “He’s important, let’s hope they don’t take it away from us.”
When asked about Tottenham’s ‘strong interest’ in the Romanian, Gilardino explained: “It also includes other players in the squad, not just him. I hope no one goes away and that the club can make a sacrifice. At the same time, I would understand the club if they had to make a sacrifice in another way.”
