Earlier today, we covered claims from Italy that Tottenham Hotspur have shown great interest in Feyenoord star Santiago Giménez. It was also stated his asking price could be beyond reach for Serie A sides and the Premier League could be his next destination.
TuttoMercatoWeb interviewed the 22-year-old’s intermediary, Morris Pagniello, and he has now said that “Tottenham are on pole” to sign the striker, along with Real Madrid.
The Mexico international is represented by his father and Pagniello claims he has been assisting them since he arrived at Feyenoord in 2022.
Giménez finished his debut season with 28 goals and three assists, and also played a key role in helping the Dutch club win the title. The frontman has extended his fine form into this season as he has 15 goals and three assists from 11 games.
“We have already discussed with Atlético Madrid. After he arrived at Feyenoord, the family approached me and now there are relationships with his father who represents Santi at the moment I am their consultant,” he said.
“We talked about him with Inter, Milan, Lazio and Napoli, but for me he could be perfect for both Inter and Juventus. They would be the best options for him. I’ve been telling various clubs to believe in him, his value went from €10m to €40m in just under 12 months. Now the teams closest to him are Real Madrid and Tottenham.”
Giménez has a deal until 2027 and TMW state it won’t be easy to convince the Eredivisie side to let go of their star. He’s currently valued between €40m and €50m, and the report warns the player could receive ‘higher offers’, if he continues his fine form.
