Since Tottenham signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa, the press in his home country have gone overboard with the coverage of their national team player.
After all, he is, to date the most expensive Romanian of all time, and that has come with a lot of expectations, which have yet to be met.
It’s still very early in his Tottenham career, and that’s what his mother, who was present at the Romanian Sports Gala and asked about her son, relayed by Orange Sport.
Dragusin may have featured three times already for Spurs, but those have totalled a paltry eight minutes, as Ange Postecoglou is being very cautious about the €25m signing.
She said: “I wish he was here (at the gala), but he has training and is waiting for his turn at Tottenham. Italy is a very beautiful country, but England is also very welcoming. We feel good. Radu has his job there and we hope he’ll settle in.
“What we all have to understand is that Radu is a young footballer in a great team and we have to be patient. It helps him a lot that he comes from an athletic family, but education has been the main pillar in our life.”
Prior to his move to Tottenham, Dragusin had been one of the main stars at Genoa, quickly developing after a transfer from Juventus, who will likely be kicking themselves at letting him go so easily when all they had to do was play him.
