Tottenham Hotspur‘s Luka Vušković could miss out on a dream move and settle for a sub-top club this summer.
Last season, he was on loan at Hamburg SV and was one of the standout centre-backs in the Bundesliga.
The Tottenham man’s fine displays have already resulted in claims of interest from top clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
In March, we relayed news that the La Liga winners are looking at the defender. Earlier this month, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that Barca refuse to meet Spurs’ €60m price.
Barcelona end interest in Tottenham player
Hamburger Abendblatt, a newspaper local to Hamburg, claims the Catalan club are no longer keen on Luka Vušković. They say it’s their own updates and could have gathered it from his camp.
The 19-year-old’s expectations were to join a top club if he won’t return to Tottenham Hotspur. He didn’t consider clubs like Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig as a big club.
Vušković’s wish was to join the Catalan club. His agent, Pini Zahavi, also manages Hansi Flick and has close ties with Barca president Joan Laporta.
However, Flick believes the defender doesn’t suit his system and is against the idea of signing him.
Therefore, the Spanish champions have ended their interest, also because of the high price. Real Madrid had earlier made initial contact but haven’t made progress since then.
The latest claims from the UK states Roberto De Zerbi’s want to sell the Croatian for around €60m.
With Barca and Real Madrid ruling out, Brighton & Hove Albion are now the most concrete option.
His family are not ‘entirely enthusiastic’ about the Seagulls, but the report claims the defender’s ‘hands are tied. He is under contract with Zahavi for a total of two years.’

Luka Vušković’s dream of securing a big move would be delayed further because of the lack of options this summer.
