On Friday, Jorge Sampaoli expressed his desire to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil for Sevilla in the winter market.
The forward has been restricted to over 300 minutes of action from 10 matches this season. The 21-year-old is at an age where he has to have a prominent role.
Marca state a move to Sevilla would help him achieve it, but Tottenham don’t want to negotiate. In fact, they close the door while Gil sees an opportunity to return to his old club pass by.
They want to convince Tottenham’s leaders of the need for Gil to go out to enjoy more game time, which isn’t possible at the club, especially after Arnaut Danjuma’s arrival.
Gil couldn’t have prominence at Sevilla earlier in his career, which is why he is keen on a return this month. The player also knows Sampaoli wants to have him at his disposal.
The player’s camp and Sevilla are putting pressure on Tottenham, while the latter are ‘indifferent’.
